Road Closure Affecting RR271

Please note that Parkland County has received a low rating advisory regarding a bridge located on Range Road 271 between Township Road 533 and 534.

For the safety of the travelling public, the road has been closed immediately. The length of the closure is yet to be determined. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Council has approved to move the engineering design work ahead of schedule. The goal is to replace the structure as early as 2025.

The Tri-Municipal Region is once again raising awareness of elder abuse this June in honour of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. Residents are encouraged to join the Uproot Abuse campaign to increase awareness of elder abuse and build a strong network to better support seniors in the region.

The WILD Water Line that supplies water to Entwistle and Wabamun remains under repair due to a line break. Additional water is being provided to the reservoirs, and there are currently no restrictions to water usage. The Entwistle Outdoor pool remains open. Gainford Hotel Celebrates Grand Re-opening

Last Saturday, we celebrated the grand re-opening of the Gainford Hotel's Iron Lady Saloon. The Gainford Hotel has been a landmark in the community since it originally opened back in 1958. 

Councillor Allan Hoefsloot presented owner, Nancy Power with a plaque in recognition of their re-opening.

We are thrilled that it is once again offering a place for residents and those passing by to sit down, relax, and enjoy some good food.

Parkland County Firefighter Jordan Burrows and Peace Officer Travis Henrikson, along with RCMP Officer Mark Friesen, have received Decorations for Bravery for their life-saving response during an intense emergency.
