Boat Launch Closures due to Construction

Please note that construction begins at Wabamun's Waterfront Park on Monday, September 30, 2024 and the park will be closed to the public. During the closure, the parking lot, pier and boat launch (when it is completed) will remain accessible. Construction is expected to continue through to November 29, 2024 and at Jackfish Lake from October 4 through to December 18, 2024.

Temporary washrooms will be placed in the parking lot at Wabamun's Waterfront Park during the first week of October.

Parkland County’s Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw is designed to keep all members of our community — including our furry friends — safe and sound.

Under the bylaw, every dog owner must purchase a licence, which includes a dog tag with a number. This makes it very easy for Peace Officers to search the tag number and return the dog to the correct owner if they get lost. A violation ticket may be issued if a dog is not licensed.

Resident Voluntary Water Restrictions Lifted

Thank you to all residents who were able to voluntarily conserve water where possible due to recent prolonged elevated temperatures and increases in water demand. Please note that as of July 25 at noon, the water restrictions on municipal use have now been lifted. Andrea Wichuk, a firefighter with Parkland County’s Fire Services, has been selected as a 2023 Mental Health Champion recipient by the Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research and Treatment (CIPSRT).
