Parkland County has issued a Wildfire alert. Fire Services are responding to a wildland fire north of Duffield between Township Road 530 north to Hwy 16, and between Range Road 32 west to range road 34. All residents are urged to avoid the area. If you are in the area, be prepared to evacuate at short notice.

Parkland County celebrates its first FireSmart Canada Recognized neighbourhood
A special celebration will be held for the community of Century Gates, the first FireSmart Canada Recognized neighbourhood in Parkland County. This is a national program to officially recognize places that have taken critical steps to reduce their vulnerability to wildland fires. The focus is bringing neighbours together to address threats on their respective properties, and those in common areas within the community.

Prospectors Point Trail Fire - Trail Closure

As of Monday, May 20 at 9:30 a.m.:
Please note a section of the Devonian Trail system between Range Road 262 to Prospectors Point is currently closed for public safety (see map below). The temporary closure is due to the impacts of a fire which occurred over the weekend. Fire crews have completed work on hot spots and the fire in the trail system of Prospectors Point is extinguished.

Fire Services warns residents that a fire restriction or ban may be coming if conditions do not improve. Open fires are allowed with permits, but residents are reminded to be extra vigilant. Soaking the area adjacent to fire pits with water is recommended. Fire permits may be restricted.

Located within the Entwistle Community Recreation Centre, this outdoor pool is typically open from May through to the September long weekend. It features a four-lane swimming area, beach area with spray toys, diving board and water slide.
